A Real melodrama! Sweet Mary Wilson weds virtuous Edward but the villainous lawyer Cribbs is determined to foreclose on the little cottage Mary shares with her poor widowed mother. Cribbs sees to it that the devil's beverage – alcohol – is served as Edward is lured to the city in a web of sin and drunkenness! Can Mary and her young child save her husband from the evils of the bottle? And what of the diabolical Cribbs?
